Are you in need of a vacation, but unsure where to go? None of the usual haunts excite you and perhaps you want more than Instagrammable photos. Do you fancy connecting above travelling – something with deeper meaning and lasting impressions? Voluntourism is a popular form of international travel that allows you to contribute to sustainable development while exploring a new country and culture. Volunteers on the Community Village Project will be fully “immersed” in all aspects of village life. Mornings will be spent assisting in the school helping to teach a non-core subject, such as IT, art, drama, music. Afternoons are more flexible and can be spent helping with farming, cooking, basket weaving, mat making, tending to the gardens, and wherever else they may need an extra pair of hands.

As a volunteer, you will have a positive impact on the lives of the children you teach, whether you are a gap year student, career breaker, or simply looking for a meaningful way to contribute during a vacation.

Tanzania remains greatly underdeveloped. The country has decent infrastructure, but blackouts are common and most roads outside of city centers are rocky dust roads. While the economy has improved greatly in the last forty years and the country’s political stability forms a solid base for continued growth, Tanzania still suffers from a great deal of poverty. There are many areas where volunteers can help.
